San Jose Recording Artist, Kool Katz Band.

Kool Katz have had the priviledge to be the opening act and back-up band for Joe Bataan once at the Beautiful Hearbst Theatre in San Francisco, The Bumbershoot in Seattle, Avalon Night Club, and once again Joe Bataan and the Kool Katz reunite at the Avalon Night Club!

This is not only an exciting opportunity but also great news to the group because Joe Bataan is also going to be featured on the Kool Katz Band's upcoming CD entitled Kool Katz "For All That I Am" due out this summer. The title track "For All That I Am" was written especially for Joe.

When Art and Kelly met him several years ago, Joe was performing on stage at a park in LA. Before he sang the "Our Father" song, he told the audience a special story about his life and he talked about how he gave his life to the Lord and that his mission is to continue spreading the Word throughout the WORLD!

Bataan's Message:
"I guess I had to do a little work with God," he explains. "I had a little scare, maybe four or five years ago, with a touch of diabetes. It was diagnosed wrong, and I went through all this trauma. They gave me up for being gone. I think God reached down and said, 'Look, Joe. Stop running away from me. I'm going to give you another chance, but I want you to do something with your life, not just sing. You gotta take on and send a message.' So, that's what I've been doing the last four years."

That day, Kelly "Lead Vocalist" of the Kool Katz was so inspired by his story that she decided to write Joe Bataan a song especially for him.

To this day, Joe and the Kool Katz have developed a very special relationship and very grateful to have him in their lives.

Still fresh from our old home at the Frankin Mall in Santa Clara, KKUP Radio now resides in San Jose. In a tree- lined, radio station-lined community. Our new digs are closer to the state-of-art level of other big time radio station. Yet, at the same time, we remain grounded in the knowledge that we are People's Radio. This means we are connected with the community. We listen to and give to our Santa Clare, Santa Cruz, Monterey peninsula audience with they ask for. Our Latino department will be hosting our annual Latin Marathon on Mother's Day weekend (May 7-9) We spread ourselves wide. sharing the music of the Caribbean, South and Central America, and down home Oldies, along with Texas style Tex-Mex and Conjunto Music. We inform our listeners about upcoming events and pertinent views and issues. KKUP's Latino Department will be presenting the very finest of Latin music and Oldies. There will be live in the studio music. Special quests and premiums. All this with the hope that the community listen in and support KKUP with their donations.

Hi everyone, Kelly the Kat here with some exciting news!!! Kool Katz will be having our CD Release Party on Saturday, August 7, 2010 at the Pleasanton Hilton. Music, Food, Fun and a whole lotta shakin going on! We guarantee this is going to be an awesome event and look forward to seeing you there!

Mr. Ron Moton ~ Sax and Vocals for Con Funk Shun. is our Music Producer and he’s been a Blessing in the making of this CD. This will be the Kool Katz fourth CD produced. It took almost 2 years to finally complete this project and we can now bring it to you! We hope you’ll enjoy The Kool Katz New Sound!!!

I will be announcing Special Guest Artists and Bands that will be performing at the event so stay tuned!

The East L.A. Revue is dedicated to the preservation and awareness of the“eastside sound” and it’s origins in Los Angeles, California.
The ELA Revue Band is drawn from 1960s garage bands and they perform in public concerts in the area. From “Huggies Bunnies” to “Land of 1000 Dances” to “Ooh Pooh Pah Do”, they remain “true to the eastside sound”.
