Taking care of my son Lorenzo

Art and I hope all of you have had a wonderful holiday season. Ours was great as we spent time with our families. The new year is here and we hope it will bring you peace and prosperity in all you do. Kelly the Kat has not been blogging lately because I've been taking care of my son Lorenzo. Over the New Years Eve weekend, Lorenzo had a terrible fall off a flight of stairs. He had been unconscious from 1am til 9am when he finally got woken up by two men who had lived in the apartment complex where he landed on their front steps. When he called us in the morning, he sounded so scared not sure where he was and he was only able to make out the 2 street names by the house where he was at. It was so, so scary because we couldn't find him for about 2 hours. It was the longest two hours in our lives. His cell phone was losing battery and he didn't want to lose us. I told him to ask the men who helped him inside their house to use their phone so he did. Finally we found him and he looked so distraught, cuts and scratches all over his upper body and one heck of a headache. We stopped to get a bite to eat but Lorenzo said he felt so dizzy and sick to his stomach so he went to throw up. He tried to eat and drink something but he said he had no taste buds or smells. On the drive home he complained about his head hurting really bad and that's when I noticed the big lump in the back. Putting all the symptoms together something just told me to call Kaiser. Sure enough they told me to get him to emergency right away and that's what we did. Lorenzo ended up having a concussion along with Anosmia http://www.sinuswars.com/lossoftasteandsmell.asp
Now he has muffled hearing but he is taking it all in stride and trying to be positive. The doctor said he may recover within a month to a year. We are praying for the best for our son and we hope he stays positive in his journey to recovery. Dad and Mom and family will surely be their for him. Thanks for reading and be kool in all you do cuz the Kool Katz Love Yah!!!

LET'S NOT FORGET THE SAN JOSE BOLD KNIGHT!!

So Art and me went to San Jose last night to do some PR with Mike Lopez owner of the Legendary “Bold Knight” Restaurant. We had recently performed there for the San Jose High Alumni Association Benefit but we didn’t get a chance to eat because we had another gig in the evening that night.

Before we met up with Mike we wanted to get a bite to eat and its been sooooo long since we’ve eaten at the Bold Knight so we said why not? We were greeted by a very gracious Headwaiter named Mike to take our order. As I was doing a phone interview with JJ Amaya from KOHL 89.3 radio about our upcoming show at Swiss Park, low and behold they bring us what Bold Knight is ever so FAMOUS and remembered for, their “AWESOME FONDUE!!!”

I’m not exaggerating when I say this, they are very well known for their fondue. For those of you who have lived in San Jose for a long time, I know you will probably agree with me, right????? We knew that the Bold Knight had moved from its original location on Monterey to the new one on 1st street so, we were kind of skeptical and wondered if the food and fondue would still have that mouth watering flavor and taste.

As we cut up our pieces of bread, placed them on the plate, took our forks and dipped the bread into the fondue, we closed our eyes and imagined us in the old restaurant. Remember how dark and dim the lights were? We both say, “you ready?” We wait for that moment, the moment of warmth on our tongues and all those comfort foody flavors in the fondue. That gooey cheese that we have missed for all these years!!!

All we have to say is YUMMMMM!!!
It still has the same flavor. So delish and so yummy and so, so good!!!

Now lets get to the food. Art ordered the New York Steak, well done and I ordered the Chicken Picatta. Oh let me just say, both orders were to die for!!! So good and very filling. After dinner we had a couple of drinks and were ready to meet up with Mike but boy were we full.

The place looks great and you feel very welcome there. It’s not as dark and dim like the old Bold Knight but you’re sure to feel comfy and cozy with a new modern look to it. Art and I were pleased with our service and we are very happy to hear that our friend Mike is the Head Honcho over there. It turned out to be a good night, we even ran into Bill Kliedon from the San Jose High Alumni Association to boot.

If you haven’t been or had the chance to go to the “New” Bold Knight, you really need to. It’s a big piece of San Jose History and of course a great place to eat. Even if they have moved from their original location, the food and the service still remain the same, EXCELLENT!!! Oh yes, lets not forget the FONDUE!!!

Thank you Mike Lopez for your hospitality and for a great night at your establishment. 5 thumbs up to you Bold Knight! You are a great place to relax, eat, drink and enjoy a wonderful evening.

http://theboldknight.com/

THE BOLD KNIGHT (408) 297-2170
www.theboldknight.com
